First graduates of the State Conservatory

On July 3, 1941, 5 female and 9 male graduates of the theater, woodwind, and harp departments of the State Conservatory received their diplomas at the commencement ceremony where President İnönü was also present. Speaking at the commencement, Minister of Education Hasan Âli Yücel stated that the conservatory, which did not even have a school building when it was first opened, graduated its first class despite many challenges and that Prof. Paul Hindemith and Prof. Carl Ebert’s contributions had been instrumental in overcoming them.
